“Kids Helping Kids” program

“Kids Helping Kids” program

"Kids Helping Kids" is a program that is carried out by young volunteers and helps to the integration of children with disabilities, children, orphans and other deprived young people.
Goal: To promote the integration of children with disabilities in community life. “Kids Helping Kids” program was launched in the summer of 1998. That summer, the volunteers of the Public Association Center for Civil Initiatives "Leader" and Peace Corps volunteers from the United States took the initiative to start working on the integration of children with disabilities in society. Every year since, we traditionally hold summer camps, Christmas party, and many actions which facilitate the interaction of the children. Since 1998, the program conducted more than 20 series of summer camps, 10 New Year's Eve and more than 30 charity events. Over its ten year of history, the program "Kids Helping Kids" has proved to society that people with disabilities can and should participate in active life. We worked hard on the program, and therefore managed to achieve the goals that we had. This, in turn, proves that the program is developed, which means that there are new problems that require solutions, and, consequently, new goals and ways to achieve them.
